At Aledo High School

a two-year, two-way standout for coach Steve Wood at Aledo (Texas) High School... helped Bearcats to UIL Class 5A Division II State title as a senior in 2018 after AHS fell in the 2017 state championship game... a member of two teams that combined for a 31-1 mark... earned District 5-5A Utility Player of the Year honors as a senior in 2018 splitting time between free safety, running back and as a return specialist... accounted for eight touchdowns during senior campaign including six rushing scores, one on an interception return and another on a punt return... made 66 tackles including 41 solo stops, one tackle for loss and three interceptions from his safety position... his one-handed, 103-yard interception for a touchdown in a 63-7 state semifinal win over Wichita Falls Rider High School aired on ESPN's SportsCenter... rushed for 330 yards on 45 carries and made four catches for 27 yards during his senior campaign... also gained District 6-5A Utility Player of the Year accolades as a junior 2017 playing more on offense... rushed for 1,078 yards on 163 carries accounting for at least 100 yards in three games... also made 10 catches for 145 yards... accounted for 19 total touchdowns for the 2017 state finalist Bearcats including 15 rushing, three receiving and one on a punt return... over his two prep seasons, he averaged 29.2 yards on 19 kick returns and 18 yards on 45 punt returns with two touchdowns (73, 48)... also a three-year starter at shooting guard on the basketball court at AHS...
