At Mesquite High School
a four-year starter for coach Robbie Robinson at Mesquite (Texas) High... rolled up nearly 2,000 all-purpose yards a first-team All-District 11-6A performer as a senior... ran for 1,586 yards on 189 carries (7.2 yards per carry) while logging 43 receptions for 586 yards and four more scores in 2016... rushed for 1,267 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior in 2015 while catching 25 passes for 305 yards out of the backfield... the two-time Special Teams MVP (2015, 2016) returned two kicks for scores as a junior in 2015... became go-to option for Mesquite High as a sophomore accounting for 942 rushing yards with nine touchdowns to go along with 18 receptions for 170 yards and two more scores... finished prep career with 3,576 rushing yards and 1,061 receiving yards for 4,637 all-purpose yards... also competed in basketball and ran track during prep career...
