Midwestern State opened the season with a pair of impressive wins, defeating Western Colorado, 6-1, and prevailing over Central Oklahoma, 3-1. Cassidy Savoy led the way with three goals and two assists in the two games and was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week. The Mustangs are home again on Thursday to face Fort Lewis. Kickoff at Stang Park is scheduled for 5 p.m. MSU plays its first away match at Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday at noon.
