Midwestern State returned to Wichita Falls after an 0-4 performance in the Mountain Lion Classic, losing two five-set decisions to St. Edward's and South Dakota Mines. Michigan Tech swept the Mustangs in Colorado Springs, and the hosts from UCCS defeated MSU, 3-1. The Mustangs rebound in their home opener, defeating Bethel College, 3-0, as Jaiden Wright had 10 kills on 16 swings to finish with a hitting percentage of .625. Remi Madison led the team with 12.5 points and finished with a team-leading 11 kills on 30 swings, hitting .267 in her D.L. Ligon Coliseum debut. Tania Penn was 10-for-23 and finished with a hitting percentage of .324. Midwestern State heads north of the Red River to face Oklahoma Christian and Texas A&M-Kingsville in the Lone Star Challenge on Thursday and Friday.
