Midwestern State took a trek to Colorado last week and left the Rocky Mountain region with two draws. The Mustangs started their road trip in Colorado Springs and played UCCS to a 1-1 draw on Friday night. The second leg of the road trip saw Midwestern State settle for a 2-2 draw with MSU Denver as the Roadrunners scored the equalizer in the 79th minute after Jose Oritiz scored his fifth goal of the season to put the Mustangs in front 2-1 in the 64th minute after Victor Hernandez scored in the 59th minute to pull Midwestern State even with MSU Denver, which opened the scoring in the 57th minute. Midwestern State hosts Southern Nazarene on Thursday night as the defending national champions play their home opener at Stang Park. Midwestern State is back home Saturday night to tangle with Cal Poly Pomona.
