This week's Stang Gang Podcast features complete coverage of Midwestern State Men's Soccer and an interview with head coach Michael Meachum. 

Midwestern State opened the season at the Colorado Mesa Men's Soccer Showcase and took a 1-0 lead over the hosts in the seventh minute. The Stangs maintained their advantage until the 58th minute, when an own goal squared the match, 1-1. The Mustangs were unable to break through in the final half hour and settled for a 1-1 draw at Community Hospital Unity Field in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Two days later, Parker Plaxco — assisted by Jaime Villagomez — scored in the 64th minute, and Midwestern State defeated Westminster 1-0 for its first win of the 2025 season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jake Morris started and played 90 minutes in both games. Morris left his home state of Colorado with a 1-0-1 record, three saves, a 0.50 goals-against average and a save percentage of .750, but he is likely to be one of three goalkeepers to see playing time for the Mustangs this season.

The home opener is slated for Sept. 11 as the Newman Jets visit Stang Park for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
