Midwestern State has advanced to the third round of the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship after defeating Cal Poly Pomona 3-0 in the second round at Stang Park on Sunday afternoon. Gabriel Gacovicaj scored twice, and Mere Escobar finished with a goal and an assist in the resounding victory for the Mustangs, who improved to 1-1-1 in the all-time series with all three meetings coming in the postseason and at Stang Park. MSU wants to "Pack the Park" again this Sunday as Fort Lewis visits the Mustangs for a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament meeting, when the Skyhawks stymied Escobar but fell to MSU, 2-1, in the second round at Stang Park.  Fort Lewis defeated UC Colorado Springs, 4-2, on Sunday to advance to the third round this season.
