Stang Gang Podcast with Rich Renner

September 15, 2026
This week's Stang Gang Podcast features head football coach Rich Renner discussing all the latest news surrounding Midwestern State Football.

Midwestern State is coming off its bye week and is ready to open up conference play as it hosts Western New Mexico on Saturday night at 6 p.m. The Mustangs have been emphasizing special teams and eliminating penalties. Another area of concern for MSU is defending the Red Zone, where opponents have ventured nine times and scored seven touchdowns. WNMU is averaging 36 points a game and scored nine touchdowns on 11 trips to the Red Zone. WNMU played its conference opener last week at UT Permian Basin and was flogged by the Falcons, 69-14. Midwestern State is rolling up 462 yards of offense per game and has the second most prolific aerial attack in NCAA Division II with 361 yards of passing. MSU is averaging 28.5 points per game and hopes to light up the scoreboard for Family Weekend at Memorial Stadium.
