WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State improved to 6-0-0 with two more wins and two more clean sheets last week. The Mustangs won at UT Permian Basin, 3-0, and routed visiting Eastern New Mexico, 8-0.
Leeci Snyder was selected as the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her work in the two matches.
The senior from Seattle, Washington, scored a goal and had two assists in the win over Eastern New Mexico at Stang Park on Saturday afternoon. Before kickoff against the Greyhounds, Snyder was one of seven Mustang seniors recognized during Senior Day festivities.
Snyder assisted on
Sloane Sullivan's goal in the 18th minute before setting up a
Madison Brinkley goal with a long throw in the 55th minute. Snyder scored on an indirect free kick in the penalty box, assisted by
Marlene Myrvold in the 61st minute.
Snyder has five points for the Mustangs this season with a goal and three assists and is the third player in three weeks to receive one of the Weekly Awards from the LSC.
Midwestern State hosts Texas A&M International at Stang Park on Thursday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and Snyder is expected to make her seventh start of the season.
