WICHITA FALLS, Texas –Liam Pritchard, a midfielder for the Midwestern State national champion men's soccer team, has been selected as the 2026 Lone Star Conference Men's Athlete of the Year.

Pritchard was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship, assisting on two goals in a 3-0 win over Southern New Hampshire in the national semifinal, and sealing the victory in the national championship match with a goal in the 87th minute of a 2-0 win over Rollins.

The senior from Hartlepool, England, contributed to five of the Mustangs' goals during the NCAA tournament including the game-winning goal in three of the five MSU tournament matches. He finished the season with three goals and eight assists (14 points), ranking No. 23 in Division II and second in the LSC for total assists.

Pritchard was named LSC Midfielder of the Year and All-Conference First Team. He was also an All-South Central Region First Team selection by United Soccer Coaches and Division II Conference Commissioners Association.

Pritchard is the second Midwestern State male athlete to receive the honor and the first since Marqui Christian, who was a safety on the Midwestern State gridiron football team when he won the award in 2016.

Brenna Moore of the Midwestern State golf team is the only female athlete to be named LSC Women's Athlete of the Year, earning the distinction in 2015. This year, Esther Conde-Turpin, a multi-events specialist with the West Texas A&M track and field program, received the honor.
