WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State is No. 2 in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Rankings, and the Mustangs are No. 35 in the latest ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
Midwestern State (16-6, 8-2) trails only UT Tyler in the regional rankings and is ranked ahead of Lubbock Christian, Angelo State, St. Mary's and Cameron.
UT Tyler is the No. 1-seed in the upcoming LSC Women's Tennis Championship and is the highest ranked LSC program in the ITA rankings at No. 26. Angelo State is ranked No. 29, while Lubbock Christian is No. 42.
Selin Sepken is 9-1 in conference duals with a 17-2 overall record this season. She has a four-match winning streak and is No. 8 in the ITA singles rankings entering the postseason.
Emilia Gyorgy won 13 of her last 15 singles matches for the Mustangs, playing primarily the No. 2 spot in the lineup. The freshman from Hungary was 16-6 in the regular season with an 8-2 record in conference play, and she is No. 60 in the latest ITA singles rankings.
Sepken and Gyorgy have a seven-match winning streak in doubles and are 16-6 this season, including a 7-3 mark in LSC duals. They are No. 10 in the latest ITA doubles rankings.
