Women's Tennis Shifts to No. 12 in ITA Rankings

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State Women's Tennis falls to No. 12 in the latest ITA NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Rankings, announced the organization on Wednesday morning.

Midwestern State suffered their first loss of the season during a three-match road trip to Kansas and Nebraska. The Mustangs began the weekend with wins over Nebraska-Kearney (4-3) and Rockhurst (4-1). MSU battled against a tough No. 11 Washburn squad, falling on the road 4-2. Midwestern State are the highest ranked team in the Lone Star Conference, with No. 13 St. Mary's just behind the Mustangs, along with No. 20 UT Tyler, while Angelo State is receiving votes.

The No. 12 Mustangs face a tough weekend, battling three top-25 teams in Tyler, Texas. The Mustangs begin the weekend against No. 3 West Alabama on Friday, February 27. MSU will face No. 25 Auburn-Montgomery the following day, February 28, and then the Mustangs will face No. 2 West Florida to conclude the weekend trip, March 1.
