The match tightened through a foul-heavy stretch that included a WT yellow card, and the Lady Buffs generated late pressure with multiple shots and a corner over the final 11 minutes. Short made another save on Rodriguez Fortea at 84:10, and MSU held the 1-1 score through the end of regulation.

The first overtime began at 90:00 and remained without a recorded shot through the opening minutes, with a yellow card issued to the Maroon & Gold at 95:38. After Allie Cifuentes was whistled for a foul at 97:07, WT had the only recorded attempt of the overtime when Alicia Cohen sent a shot out top at 98:17.
