WICHITA FALLS, Texas - - Midwestern State has a three-match winning streak as it begins a six-match homestand on Tuesday night. Southern Nazarene visits the Mustangs for the final non-conference match of the season. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The Mustangs are 9-8 overall with a 5-2 conference record following wins over Oklahoma Christian and Cameron.
Midwestern State won at Oklahoma Christian 3-1 (19-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-23). Aaliyah Toppin had 16 kills, a service ace and a block to lead the Mustangs with 17.5 points. Jaiden Wright finished with 12 kills and was in on 5-of-7 blocks for MSU.
The following day, the Mustangs hit .333 and defeated Cameron at Aggie Gym 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-19). Isabella Dickens led the Stangs with 13 kills and hit .571. Jaiden Wright had 10 kills and hit .533 in the victory.
Wright has hit .278 or better in each of her last seven matches and had double-digit kills in each of her last three matches, including a season-high 23 kills in the five-set win over West Texas A&M last week, when she hit .400. Wright has hit at least .400 in seven matches this season. The senior from Alvarado, Texas, is hitting .345 for the season, which is the fourth best hitting percentage in the Lone Star Conference.
Wright, who averages 2.56 kills per set, leads the Mustangs with 0.83 blocks per set and 40 total blocks this season. She has 186.5 points this season and is second on the team with 2.96 points per set.
Dickens leads the team with 219.5 points and 3.48 points per set this season. The senior from Iowa Park, Texas, is second on the team with a hitting percentage of .322, which is ninth in the conference, and she is 11th in the league with 3.1 kills per set. Dickens has double-digit kills in 11 matches this season.
Midwestern State is seventh in the LSC with a hitting percentage of .213, and opponents are hitting .243 against the Mustangs.
Macy Scheer leads the Mustangs and is fifth in the conference with 12.8 assists per set. Scheer had a season-high 69 assists in the Mustangs last home match, which was the five-set victory over West Texas A&M. It is the sixth-most assists in a single match for an MSU setter since Allison Schreiber had 68 assists in a 3-2 win over Texas Woman's in 2005.

SOUTHERN NAZARENE (12-7)
Midwestern State is facing Southern Nazarene for the first time since 2021, but the Crimson Storm have won the last three meetings, including their last two visits to D.L. Ligon Coliseum in 2019 and 2016. Midwestern State leads the all-time series, 25-11, but its last win against Southern Nazarene came in Bethany, Oklahoma, in October of 2016.
The Crimson Storm has won three of its last four matches in the Great American Conference, improving its conference record to 4-3. Southern Nazarene is 3-2 on the road this season.
Southern Nazarene has the best hitting percentage in the GAC at .239 and is third in the conference with 13.29 kills per. SNU is also third in the league with 12.09 assists per set. The Crimson Storm are ninth in the conference with 1.55 blocks per set, and are second in the GAC with 18.43 digs per set.
Riley Richardson leads Southern Nazarene with 4.26 kills per set, and Rayanna Mauldin averages 3.17 kills per set. Richardson has the eighth-best hitting percentage in the league at 306, and Kate Wright is hitting .265 for the Crimson Storm.

Sydney Marquez is fifth in D2 with 375 total digs, which is second most in the GAC, and she is third in the league with 4.93 digs per set. Wright is averaging 3.62 digs per set and has 275 total digs.
Hanna Morgan and Riley Richardson lead SNU in blocks. Morgan has 51 in 76 sets and Richardson has 50 in 75 sets. They are both averaging 0.67 blocks per set.
Southern Nazarene leads the GAC with 1.87 aces per set, and Moddelmog is second in the conference with 31 total aces. Kate Wright has 22 aces, which is seventh in the league, and Sydney Marquez has the ninth most aces in the GAC with 21.
