WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State Men's Tennis opening the season as the No. 18 team in Division II, following the release of the preseason Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Collegiate rankings, announced the organization on Wednesday morning.

Midwestern State start their season in just 17 days, when they will welcome Seward County Community College on Jan. 31 at MSU Tennis Courts. MSU had individual success in fall, three members representing the team at the ITA Cup. In the ITA South Central Regional, Bruno Sanchez and Juan David Duque claimed the doubles title, fending off teammates Germano Setti and Matthew Earle in the final.

The opening ITA poll features several of the Mustangs opponents and conference foes for the 2026 season. In non-conference play, MSU will meet up with No. 4, West Florida, No. 6 Washburn, while West Alabama are receiving votes. The Lone Star Conference is featured in the poll with No. 5 Lubbock Christian, No. 7 UT Tyler, and No. 18 Midwestern State being in the poll, while Cameron is receiving votes.

Setti highlighted the Mustangs singles efforts in the Fall, reaching the quarterfinal of ITA South Central Singles Tournament, and earning an at large-bid to the ITA Cup. Setti ranks 7^th in the nation for singles and No. 5 in south central region. David Duque sits 33^rd in singles rankings nationally, and 7^th in region.

For doubles, David Duque and Sanchez are the top duo in the South Central and No. 11 nationally. The pair of Earle and Setti are not far behind, standing No. 16 in nation, and No. 4 in the region.

Midwestern State begins the season on home court against Seward Community College (Jan. 31), while facing its first Division ll opponent on Feb. 8 against Northwest Missouri State.
