LAWTON, Okla. – Midwestern State Women's Cross Country displayed a strong outing at the Aggie Duals, finishing 3
rd of 10 teams on Friday afternoon at Big Green Soccer Complex.
The Mustangs placed 3
rd with 76 points, finishing West Texas A&M (15 points) and East Central (60 points). MSU finished ahead of Lone Conference counterparts Cameron (4
th, 110 points) and Eastern New Mexico (9
th, 250 points). MSU featured eight runners in the top 30 of a 86 runner field.
Freshman
Konnar McClendon led the Mustangs in the 5k race, crossing the line with a time of 19:04.08 to finish just in the top-10. Seniors
Perla Flores (19:25.82, 12
th) and
Lula Nolen (19:27.52, 13
th) followed shortly after, while Senior
Isabel Hernandez closed out the top-20 clocking 19:37.67.
Graduate Student
Kristen Fritsche posted a time of 19:40.07 (21
st) in their first race with the Mustangs, while
Jackie Earley finished 23
rd with a time of 19:54.27 in their first career collegiate race.

The Mustangs will be on home turf for their next race, hosting the Mustangs Derby on Thursday, Sept. 11 at Lake Wichita. The Mustang Derby is set to begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday morning.
