PLANO, Texas — In a doubles heavy weekend, Midwestern State Men's Tennis impressed at the Marty Berryman Invitational over the weekend. The team combined for several good results, competing against Collin College (CC), Texas Wesleyan (TWU), Ouachita Baptist (OBU), Weatherford College (WC), and Southern Arkansas (SAU).
 
In doubles play, Midwestern State combined to go 19-1 over the weekend, with three of four pairs finishing 5-0. Germano Setti and Matthew Earle went unbeaten over the three-day tournament, each going 2-0 in singles, while winning four of five matches by a 6-2 score. Bruno Sanchez finished without a loss, going 2-0 in singles, and then combining with Juan David Duque to go 5-0 in doubles play. Sanchez and Duque had solid outings against other Division II opponents, winning 6-2 against OBU and SAU. Overall, Midwestern State finished 14-2 in singles play, with Sanchez, Earle, Setti, Jose Marquez, Tomas Leguizamon, and Jack Franklin all going 2-0 in singles play.

The Mustangs gear up to host ITA South Central Regionals at the MSU Tennis Center, Oct. 2-4. MSU singles and doubles teams will compete against several schools within the Lone Star Conference, with a chance to advance to ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia.
