No. 11 Mustangs edge Cameron in LSC opener

WICHITA FALLS, Texas-- No. 11-ranked Midwestern State held edged Cameron 4-3 for its sixth-straight win in its Lone Star Conference opener Tuesday afternoon at the MSU Tennis Center.

The Mustangs improved to 9-2 on the season and stayed perfect at home at 5-0.

MSU's 31st-ranked doubles team of Stephen Slocombe and Filip Vacula combined for a 6-3 win over Cameron's Kristian Kubik and Lachlan Sitina at the No. 1 position to clinch the doubles point after the teams split the first two matches coming off of the courts.

Bruno Sanchez and Justin Van Amerongen made quick work at No. 2 doubles with a 6-1 win over Rhys Edwards and Pavel Kelo, then Cameron retaliated at No. 3 with Noe Milliard and Vincente Preto outlasting Juan David Duque and Killian Guillou, 6-3.

The Aggies leveled the match a 3-3 when Kubik defeated Duque 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.
