WICHITA FALLS, Texas – No. 11-ranked Midwestern State has a four-match winning streak and is 3-0 at home as it hosts UT Dallas on Thursday afternoon.

The Mustangs are coming off a 7-0 win over Southwest Baptist in its last dual match at MSU Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon.

The Comets and Mustangs are meeting for the first time since 1980, when MSU dominated in a 6-0 victory. In 1978, UT Dallas visited Midwestern State and fell, 4-0.

Filip Vacula is 5-3 at No. 1 singles for the Mustangs and has won his last three matches, and he has prevailed in four of his five encounters against ranked opponents.

Bruno Sanchez and Philip Kamara each have four-match winning streak for the Mustangs. Kamara is 6-2 this season with a 4-0 record at No. 4 singles. Sanchez is 2-2 against ranked opponents this season and is 5-4 overall.

Midwestern State is 11-14 in doubles matches this season, but MSU has taken the doubles point in each of the last two dual matches.

The Comets arrive at MSU Tennis Center with a four-match losing streak and is 2-4 this season following a 7-0 loss to No. 50 Ouachita Baptist.

Benjamin Dubois is undefeated at No. 4 singles with a 4-0 record and is 5-1 this season.

UT Dallas is 10-8 in doubles this season, and Giritharan D and Eddy Shteyn is 4-1 at No. 2 doubles this season.

Midwestern State completes its five-match homestand with a conference-opening dual against Cameron on March 18.
