Plaxco has goal and assist in 2-0 win over UT Tyler

WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Midwestern State(6-2-3, 2-1-0) secured a 2-0 victory over the University of Texas at Tyler (3-6-1, 0-3-0) on Wednesday night at Stang Park.

The first half began with the Mustangs establishing an early presence as Liam Kervick capitalized on an assist from Parker Plaxco to score in the 14th minute. This goal followed a series of offensive efforts, including shots by Ethan Krchnak and Plaxco that tested the Patriots' defense. Daniel Robles contributed defensively with key saves, maintaining the lead for the Maroon & Gold.

As the half progressed, UT Tyler increased their attempts to equalize but were consistently denied by Robles. MSU continued to press forward, with Liam Pritchard generating additional scoring opportunities. The half closed with the Mustangs leading 1-0, having effectively contained UT Tyler's advances.

The second half was highlighted by a crucial goal from MSU as Parker Plaxco found the net in the 66th minute, assisted by Jaime Villagomez. This goal extended the Maroon & Gold's lead, building on their first half advantage. Despite several attempts from the Patriots, including a shot by Tony Ngombi, the home team's defense held firm.

Plaxco now has eight goals and three assists for the Mustangs this season.

MSU created multiple opportunities, including a shot by Anthony Barrera that was blocked and attempts from both Pritchard and Sune Espevoll, which were saved by UT Tyler's goalkeeper Niclas Becker.
