WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State renews its rivalry with visiting West Texas A&M in a Lone Star Conference clash on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
Midwestern State (8-3-3, 4-2-0) is ranked No. 12 in the nation but has struggled at home this season with a 2-3-1 record.
The Mustangs are coming off a 2-0 loss to UT Dallas last week at Stang Park.
Parker Plaxco has eight goals and three assists for the Mustangs, who are outscoring their opponents 27-13 this season.
Alan Rivera has five goals this season, including four in the last six games, while Liam Kervick and Cooper Tea have each scored three goals.
Jake Morris and Daniel Robles have split time in goal this season. Morris is 3-2-2 with a goals-against average of 1.12. Robles has a 0.87 GAA and is 5-1-1. Both goalkeepers have recorded three clean sheets for the Mustangs.
Midwestern State leads the all-time series with West Texas A&M, 39-24-5, and lost its last meeting with the Buffaloes at Canyon last season, 3-1. The Mustangs are 19-10-2 when hosting WT, including a 2-1 victory in a non-conference clash last year.
West Texas A&M (5-6-1, 2-3-1) arrives in Wichita Falls with a three-game losing streak following a 2-1 setback against Lubbock Christian on Wednesday night. The Buffaloes are 2-1-0 in away matches this season.
Opponents have outscored West Texas A&M 17-15, and the Buffaloes have been shut out five times this season.
D'Jonte Davis is the leading goal scorer for WT with four, and he leads the team with 10 points. Desire Essis and Ben Scotford scored three goals apiece.
Goalkeepers Bryce Cottle and Zach Kos each have two clean sheets. Cottle is 3-3-1 with a 1.57 goals-against average. Kos is 2-3-0 with a GAA of 1.20.
