ROME, Georgia – Germano Setti played his third match at the 2025 ITA Cup and defeated Adrian Solorzano of Harding University, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 at the Rome Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
Setti completed the prestigious event with a 2-1 record. The senior from Brazil received an at-large berth in the 16-player draw and won his first-round match, defeating Tadeo Gaggiofatto of UIndy, 6-1, 6-2.
No. 3-seed Pedro Liborio won the quarterfinal match with Setti, 6-4, 6-3, and was defeated on Saturday in the semifinals by No. 2-seed Yan Kodjoed of Barry 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.
Diego Duran of West Florida earned entry into the finals with wins over top-seeded Soeren Grandke of Azusa Pacific and No. 4 seed Kelly Giese of Lubbock Christian.
Setti and
Matthew Earle completed their run in the doubles' competition with a loss to Luis Klaus and Harry Forsyth of Wayne State (4-6, 4-6), while
Bruno Sanchez and
Juan David Duque fell to Agustin Mastri and Luca Beronzi of Catawba (6-7 (5), 4-6).
Midwestern State begins the dual season in February.
