PORTALES, New Mexico -- Midwestern State is on the road to play opponents from the Lone Star Conference in three non-conference matches at Greyhound Arena on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Mustangs face Eastern New Mexico in their first match of the LSC Volleyball Preview on Thursday night at 7 p.m. The next match against Western New Mexico is scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m. MSU plays its final match of the event against LSC newcomer Sul Ross State at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

After starting the season with a 3-1 record at the Midwestern State Invitational, MSU suffered four consecutive losses during the Denton Volleyfest last weekend at Kitty Magee Arena. Colorado Christian, Pittsburg State and Arkansas-Fort Smith swept the Mustangs, who were able to claim the first set against Henderson State in the penultimate match on Saturday.
Midwestern State is fourth in the conference with 17.11 digs per set.
Jenna Redding leads the team with 3.5 digs per set, and
Amy DeWalt is averaging 3.43 digs per set.
Demi Stauffenberg is leading the Mustangs with 3.04 kills per set and 3.41 points per set.
Riley Rabedeaux is knocking down 2.93 kills per set and averaging 3.05 points per set.
Gabrielle Oos is sixth in the conference with 1.04 blocks per set and is posting 2.32 points per set.
Oos is second on the team with a hitting percentage of .237.
Isabella Dickens is hitting a team-leading .239 and is third on the team with 2.14 kills per set.
Midwestern State won its last meeting with ENMU in straight sets, 25-20, 25-15 and 27-25. The Mustangs are 20-24 in the all-time series and 9-11 when visiting the Greyhounds, who have won the last three meetings in Portales, including a 3-1 triumph last year in the LSC Volleyball Preview.
Eastern New Mexico is 1-7 with a 3-2 victory over Black Hills State in the Yellow Jacket Classic at Donald E. Young Center in Spearfish, South Dakota. The Greyhounds are hosting MSU in their home opener. ENMU opened the season with four losses in the Steel City Showcase in Pueblo, Colorado.
Darcy Dodd leads the Greyhounds with 3.0 kills and 3.38 points per set. Abigayle Falefia is hitting .222 to lead the ENMU attack.
Western New Mexico is coming off a 3-1 win over Fort Lewis at the Mountaineer Volleyball Classic in Gunnison, Colorado. WNMU improved its overall record to 3-5. The two other wins for the Mustangs came at the Midwestern State Invitational. WNMU pulled out a 3-2 win over Drury and swept Northwestern Oklahoma State.
Western New Mexico has won four of its last five meetings with MSU, including a 3-1 victory at the LSC Volleyball Preview in Portales last season. WNMU leads the all-time series, 14-6.
Sul Ross State is playing its first season as a member of the Lone Star Conference. Midwestern State has not faced the Lobos since a 3-0 victory in 1997 at Howard Payne in Brownwood, Texas. MSU leads the all-time series, 9-4.
Sul Ross State is seeking its first win of the season after losing three matches at the Dr. Steve Aicinena "Iceman" Invitational at UT Permian Basin in Odessa. The Lobos lost to the host, 3-1, and suffered a 3-1 loss against New Mexico Highlands before Southeastern Oklahoma earned a sweep over Sul Ross State.
Conference play begins in earnest on Sept. 27 when the Angelo State Rambelles visit the Mustangs at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. The LSC opener begins at 6 p.m.
