Mustangs secure 3-0 sweep over Texas A&M International

WICHITA FALLS, TX -- Midwestern State walked away with a 3-0 victory (25-17, 25-22, 25-20) against Texas A&M International Friday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

The win moved the Mustangs' record to 13-11 overall and 5-6 in LSC action. Midwestern State has won six of its last seven matches overall and has a five-match winning streak at home. The Mustangs have taken the last 15 sets under the dome.

Isabella Dickens finished with 14 kills to lead the Mustangs attack and finished with a hitting percentage of .550. MSU got 10 digs from Demi Stauffenberg to lead the team defensively.

SET 1 | The Mustangs took control on the first point and never looked back to win the first set 25-17. Midwestern State opened up its biggest lead, eight points, to close out the set. Midwestern State also supplemented their offense with four aces in the opening set.

SET 2 | Midwestern State continued to roll after a set-one win by securing a 25-22 victory in set number two. The Mustangs persevered in a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured five lead changes and was tied 11 times. Neither team led by more than three points along the way, MSU won the final six points of the set after trailing, 22-19.

SET 3 | Midwestern State took the third set to finish the match in a 3-0 sweep. The Mustangs won the set 25-20. Midwestern State took the lead for good at 19-18 in a set that showcased four lead changes before the Mustangs took over in the second half of the stanza.
