Mustangs travel to Southwestern Oklahoma to face Bulldogs in non-conference match

WEATHERFORD, Okla. -- Midwestern State steps outside of conference play for a match against Southwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday night. First serve at Pioneer Cellular Event Center is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Midwestern State posted back-to-back victories over St. Edward's and St. Mary's this past weekend. The Mustangs won both matches in straight sets and improved their overall record to 9-10, and the Mustangs are 3-5 in the Lone Star Conference.

Head coach Stephanie Radecki is closing in on 400 career wins in her coaching career. Radecki, who is in her 22nd season as a head coach, holds a career record of 397-296.

The Mustangs are led by Riley Rabedeaux, who is averaging 3.19 kills per set and 3.52 points per set. Rabedeaux has 576 total attacks and is hitting .243 for MSU, which is second in the LSC and 17th in the nation with 39.02 attacks per set.

Rabedeaux also leads the team with 15 service aces. Brooke Parker has dealt 12 aces from the service line, while Demi Stauffenberg and Mia Nicklas have each served 11 aces.

Brooke Parker has 328 total assists in 57 sets to lead MSU, while Alayna Guerrero leads the team with 7.21 assists per set and has totaled 303 assists in 42 sets played for the Mustangs.

Isabella Dickens, who has accounted for 3.01 points per set, is hitting a team-best .333 this season. Dickens is also second on the team with 42 blocks, including 11 solo blocks.

Gabrielle Oos leads the Mustangs with 45 blocks and has nine solo blocks through 54 sets. Oos is 13th in the LSC with 0.83 blocks per set.

MSU is seventh in the league with 16.09 digs per set. Jenna Redding and Amy DeWalt are both averaging 3.16 digs per set, which is among the top-20 in the LSC.

Midwestern State leads the all-time series with SWOSU, 11-6, but had a six-match winning streak in the series snapped last year when the Bulldogs defeated MSU in the season opener at D.L. Ligon Coliseum, 25-21, 25-17, 15-25, 25-20.

Southwestern Oklahoma is 13-6 overall with an 8-1 record in the Great American Conference, and the Bulldogs have an eight-match winning streak.

SWOSU is coming off a straight-set win over Arkansas Tech in Russellville, Arkansas, as Lacey Mott finished with 16 kills and hit .500 in the victory. Terez Chavez had 15 assists, and Cameron Turner added 14 for the Bulldogs.

Mott has been averaging a conference-best 4.04 kills per set for the Bulldogs, who are hitting .225 as a team. Mott, who is hitting, .311 through 74 sets, leads the team with 4.66 points per set.

Zoey Sparks is the reigning Defensive Player of the Week in the GAC. Sparks leads the team with 1.02 blocks per set, but Samantha Kuzma leads SWOSU with 70 total blocks in 73 sets.

The Bulldogs lead the GAC with 1.91 service aces per set, and Mott is eighth in the conference with 0.36 aces per set.

Midwestern State returns to LSC play on Friday night with a match at Cameron. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
