AMARILLO, Texas -- Junior Alli Reily and freshman Mary Kerr led Midwestern State to a seventh-place finish against a solid regional field Tuesday in West Texas A&M's West Region Preview played on the La Paloma Course of the Tascosa Golf Club.

"The weather was a factor earlier in the round, but this was a good tournament for us," MSU coach Jeff Ray said. "We won't see a lot of these teams again, so it was an important chance to get a head-to-head advantage."

The Mustangs logged team totals of 297, 305, and 305 to finish in the top half of the field with a 54-hole, 55-over total of 907.

West Texas A&M (874/+22) took the team title, finishing ahead of St. Mary's (885/+33), California State-San Marcos (888/+36), Dallas Baptist (889/+37), California State-Los Angeles (898/+46), UT Tyler (900/+48), and MSU.

Junior Alli Reily led the Mustangs by tying for 15th place overall after carding scores of 72, 73, and 78 for a 10-over 223.

Freshman Mary Kerr recorded a team-high four birdies, including three in a four-hole stretch on the Back Nine to fire the Mustangs' low score in the final round with a 2-over 73. The Friendswood, Texas, native moved into a tie for 23rd with a 13-over 226 after carding scores of 76 and 77 in Monday's rounds.

"Mary had another big round for us," Ray said. "She was good off of the tee and her proximity to the hole with her irons was solid. She also chipped and putted very well."

Senior Brecklyn Flanagan (75-79-77) tied for 38th with an 18-over total 231, while junior Kodi Nolen (78-77-77) tied for 41st with a 19-over 232.

Senior Makenna Henry (74-78-81) tied for 43rd with a 20-over 233, while sophomore Madison Wert (78-81-82) tied for 65th with a 28-over 241 while competing as an individual medalist only.

West Texas A&M senior Gam Songprasert won top individual honors, firing scores of 72, 68, and 70 to finish with a 3-under total of 210 to win by two strokes over California State-San Marcos' Madison Murr (65, 72, 75).

Midwestern State competes in the NCAA Division II National Preview Monday and Tuesday at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
