WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State's
Riley Rabedeaux and
Isabella Dickens earned all-tournament honors after leading the Mustangs to a pair of wins in the MSU Invitational.
The Mustangs (2-2) claimed wins against West Alabama and Western Colorado, while falling to Central Oklahoma and Southwestern Oklahoma State.
Rabedeaux paced the MSU attack by amassing double-figure kills in all four matches.
The junior form Poulsbo, Washington, went for 13 kills while making a single miscue to hit .522 in a sweep of Western Colorado in the tournament finale.
Rabedeaux managed 12 kills while hitting .310 in a four-set win over West Alabama. The 5-10 outside hitter also recorded 11 kills each against Southwestern Oklahoma and Central Oklahoma.
Through the opening weekend, she ranks eighth in the Lone Star Conference with 3.36 kills per set and is 16th in the league with a .342 hitting percentage.
Dickens enjoyed a brilliant collegiate debut weekend by averaging 1.85 kills per set with a .333 attack percentage.
The freshman from Iowa Park broke through with nine kills with five digs in the Mustangs' win over Western Colorado. Dickens committed just a a pair of errors to finish with a .389 hitting percentage.
She also proved to be efficient in MSU's four-set win over West Alabama going for six kills with a single miscue to hit .417 with two blocks after going off of seven digs in the season opener versus Southwestern Oklahoma.
Midwestern State takes on the homestanding, No. 17-ranked Ichabods to open play at the Washburn Invitational Friday in Topeka. First serve iset for 11:30 a.m.
The Mustangs also face Northwest Missouri State later that afternoon at 5 before taking on Missouri Western and William Jewell (Mo.) Saturday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
