PORTALES, N.M. -- Midwestern State's
Riley Rabedeaux and
Robyn White recorded season highs in kills in the finale of the Lone Star Conference Preview Saturday night at Greyhound Arena.
The Mustangs won the opening set 30-28 before falling to Eastern New Mexico -- 25-21, 25-18, 25-20 -- over the final three sets.
Rabedeaux matched a season high with 13 kills while recording her ninth match with at least 10 kills this season. Meanwhile, White put down a career-best 11 kills and completed her first collegiate double-double with 19 digs.
The Mustangs cashed in on their fourth set point of the first stanza after fighting on three from Eastern New Mexico.
MSU scored the final three points of the opening set including a kill by White and a combined block by
Alayna Guerrero and
Jaiden Wright before
Taygon Jones put it away with a service ace.
But ENMU senior Mikaela Garvin powered the Greyhounds to three consecutive set wins with 19 kills and two errors on 40 swings for a .425 attack percentage.
Senior Darcy Dodd pitched in 13 kills and hit .229, while senior Kali Nelson added 10 kills.
Senior libero led back row efforts with a career-best 41 digs as the 'Hounds limited Midwestern State to a .089 team attack percentage.
Guerrero recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 24 assists and 17 digs, while Jones notched a campaign-high 22 digs.
Midwestern State begins Lone Star Conference play Friday night against St. Edward's in Austin. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.
