WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State earned its 10th consecutive postseason berth as announced on the NCAA Division II Selection Show Monday night on NCAA.com.
The fourth-seeded Mustangs, who make their 22nd tournament appearance, make the short trip to Lawton, Oklahoma, to visit No. 1-seeded Cameron at Streich-Henry Tennis Complex on Monday. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The winner advances to the Round of 16 played at the NCAA Division II Championship site at the USTA National Campus (Collegiate Center) from May 11-16 in Orlando, Fla.
Midwestern State defeated Cameron, 4-3, in a dual at MSU Tennis Center on April 13.
Cameron leads the all-time series, 29-28-1, and is 15-13 when hosting the Mustangs, who won their last visit, 6-1, in March of 2021. Midwestern State has won six of the last eight meetings.
The Aggies defeated MSU, 5-2, when the two programs clashed in the 2017 NCAA South Central Regional in Lawton.
Cameron is led by Vasilisa Polunova, who is ranked No. 26 in the nation among Division II singles players, and Anastasia Uspenskaia, ranked No. 36.
Midwestern State was 8-2 in the Lone Star Conference and was upset by Lubbock Christian in the conference tournament quarterfinals. The Mustangs are 17-7 overall this season.
Cameron was 9-1 in the LSC and suffered a 4-3 loss to Angelo State in the semifinals of the LSC Women's Tennis Championship. The Aggies are 15-3 overall.
