LAWTON, Okla. -- Cameron's Paris Patterson and Caitlyn Henderson combined for 31 kills to lead the Aggies to a 25-23, 25-21, 25-19 sweep of Midwestern State in Lone Star Conference play Saturday at Aggie Gym.
Patterson, a sophomore from Amarillo, recorded a match-high 19 kills while committing single error in 45 swings for a .400 attack percentage, while Henderson managed 12 kills on 25 attacks with two errors for an identical .400 percentage.
The duo helped the Aggies snap a 10-match slide which is book ended by two wins over MSU. Cameron also beat the Mustangs in four sets on Sept. 14 in Portales, New Mexico.
CU setter Emily Keohen amassed 24 assists while directing the Aggie attack to a .222 team percentage.
The Aggies closed out the opening two sets on a high note by winning the final four points of the opening set to win 25-23, then took seven of the last 10 points of the second set to take control with a 25-21 victory.
Cameron jumped out to a 21-9 edge in the third set before coasting to clinch the match.
Riley Rabedeaux and
Sadie Portmann logged six kills each to pace the MSU attack, while
Taygon Jones led back row efforts with 17 digs.
Midwestern State (4-16, 1-7 LSC) takes on Dallas Baptist Friday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
Cameron improved to 4-17 overall and to 1-7 in league play.
