WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Western New Mexico held Midwestern State to a season low scoring output in a 53-47 Lone Star Conference win Thursday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
HOW IT HAPPENED >>>
Western New Mexico used a 7-1 run at the beginning of the game to take control of the game, then never relinquish the advantage.
WNMU held the Mustangs to 31.5 percent shooting, outrebounded by seven (38-31), and outscored MSU 20-10 in points off of turnovers.

- Junior guard
Natalie Stice paced Midwestern State with nine points, matched a season high with four steals, and dished out three assists.
- Junior guard
Kennedi Green chipped in eight points on 4-of-6 shooting.
- Senior
Mandy Withey grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. The forward from Granbury has 10-or-more rebounds in six games this season.
- Junior guard Sydney Wright scored 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting with three rebounds and two assists to lead Western New Mexico. She has scored in double figures in eight of 12 games this season.

- Western New Mexico snapped a string of 17 consecutive road losses to NCAA Division II opponents. WNMU's last victory away from Silver City came in a 80-75 victory over St. Mary's on Feb. 13, 2020.
- Midwestern State suffered its third consecutive setback to fall to 3-11 on the season, while falling to 1-7 in Lone Star Conference play.
- Midwestern State finished with a season-low 47 points. It was MSU's lowest scoring output since scoring 38 in the opening round of the 2022 Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament.
