LAST MEETING | Kaitlynn Stoker led Midwestern State with 16 kills, while Lauryn Bourne pitched in 14 to lead the Mustangs to a 17-25, 34-32, 25-22, 22-25, 15-12 win over Texas A&M International at the TAMIU Kinesiology and Convocation Building. Bourne also led back row efforts with 29 digs, while Amy DeWalt had 24. Sammantha Herrera and Mackenzie Catalina put down 19 kills each to lead the Dustdevils.

MSU NOTABLES | Freshman Sadie Portmann leads the Mustangs with 2.46 kills per set to go along with 2.71 digs per set... Portmann boasts two double-doubles going for 12 kills and 15 digs against Northwestern Oklahoma (9/2) and 11 kills and a season-high 19 digs versus Missouri Southern (9/3)... Portmann put down a season-best 13 kills against Minot State (8/27)... Fifth-year senior Aaliyah Burras averaged 2.26 kills per set while leading the Mustangs with a .223 attack percentage... Burras set season highs with 11 kills against Minot State (8/27) and six total blocks against Northwestern Oklahoma State (9/2)... Freshman defensive specialist Taygon Jones ranks fifth in the Lone Star Conference averaging 4.65 digs per set... Jones averaged 5.93 digs per set after assuming full-time libero duties last weekend at the Denton Volleyfest... Jones went for 20 digs in her first match libero against Northwestern Oklahoma then followed up the performance with 19 against Ouachita Baptist, 21 against Missouri Southern, and 23 versus East Central...

SCOUTING THE DUSTDEVILS | TAMIU has won three out of four matches in consecutive weekends at the Northwest Nazarene Invitational, then at the Anderson University Invite... The Dustdevils rank second in the LSC with a team hitting percentage of .270... Fifth-year senior Mackenzie Catalina ranks fourth in the LSC putting down 3.97 kills per set while hitting .283... Catalina has at least nine kills in each match this season including a season-best 21 against Alabama-Huntsville (9/2)... Senior Megan Menchaca ranks seventh in the LSC with a hitting percentage of .314... Menchaca is second on the team with 3.82 kills per set including a campaign-best 23 against Northwest Nazarene (8/26)... Sophomore Giulia Hortelan is averaging 3.03 kills per set and has put down 10-or-more kills in each of her last six matches...
