HOME OPENER, TAKE 3! Mustangs play host to Northwestern Oklahoma Thursday at Stang Park

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State takes its third swing at completing its home opener Thursday afternoon in a non-conference match against Northwestern Oklahoma State. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.

The Mustangs cancelled a midweek matchup against Southwestern Oklahoma State due to impending inclement weather, then played Texas Woman's scoreless into the 67th minute Sunday before the match was suspended due to lightning.

LAST MEETING | Sophomore Cassidy Savoy delivered a brace, while freshman Lexi Beck scored her first collegiate goal in a 3-0 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State in the 2021 lid lifter at the Alva Recreation Complex on Sept. 2.

LAST TIME OUT | Midwestern State dominated play by outshooting Texas Woman's 12-0, but played the Pioneers to a draw before the game was suspended due to lightning in the 67th minute Sunday afternoon at Stang Park. MSU junior forward Cassidy Savoy proved dangerous for the Mustangs placing four of her five shots on frame.

The Rangers opened the season with victories over Oklahoma Panhandle State (4-1) and Newman (3-1) before playing Wayne State (Neb.) 2-2 draw... Senior forward Abby Nunez leads the Rangers with four goals scoring twice against Oklahoma Panhandle State before accounting for tallies against Newman and Wayne State (Neb.)... Sophomore forward Tiara Campbell and freshman striker Victoria Ruvalcaba add two goals each for the Rangers...
