Patriot Soccer Field | Dallas, Texas

Series History | Midwestern State leads, 7-5-0

LAST MEETING | Lexi Jackson made a career-high nine saves, but Michelle Gonzalez scored her fourth goal of the season in the 83rd minute and top-ranked Dallas Baptist defeated Midwestern State at Patriot Soccer Field last month, 1-0. Dallas Baptist outshot Midwestern State 18-12 and managed to get 10 shots on goal en route to its sixth-straight home victory. Goalkeeper Adrianna Schroeder recorded her fifth shutout of the season for the Patriots with five saves. Olivia Okoye had two shots on goal for MSU. Cassidy Savoy, Randi Heaton and Isabella Cruz each had one shot on goal for the Mustangs.

LAST TIME OUT| Cassidy Savoy and Senna Garcia netted second-half goals to lift the Mustangs to a 2-1 semifinal win over West Texas A&M Saturday afternoon at DBU Soccer Field sending MSU to LSC final since 2016. Midwestern State squares off with No. 1-ranked Dallas Baptist Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. The Mustangs controlled the run of play in the opening half outshooting WT 12-5, while also working for seven corner kicks. But the Lady Buffs took advantage of a hand ball just outside of the box in the seventh minute. Emily Avila scraped the cross bar for her fourth goal of the campaign to give WT the early advantage. Midwestern State battled back, but didn't respond until later in the second half. Junior defender Janae Sanchez found some space in the middle of the field in the 70th minute and served a pass down the left attack channel to Sydney Van Noy, who sent a high arcing cross into the middle of the box that eluded attempted clearance on a header by a WT defender. Savoy capitalized with a volley to the side netting to beat West Texas A&M goalkeeper Reagan Heelan to her left to equalize the score at 1-1. The Mustangs used the left attacking a channel once again in the 80th minute. Van Noy sent a long ball to Savoy, who worked past a Lady Buff defender who took a bad angle. Savoy continued into the box and rolled a pass in front of the goal toward Isabella Cruz who avoided a collision with Senna Garcia, who slotted the ball to the lower left corner of the net for the game winner.
