WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Sadie Portmann registered a match-high 15 kills to lead Midwestern State to a 25-16, 25-20, 13-25, 25-17 win over Oklahoma Christian on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
But the hometown freshman had plenty of help from her seniors as the Mustangs erupted for a season-best .323 team attack percentage to close the year on a high note.
Senior
Taylor Anderson put down seven kills on her first eight swings on her way to her third consecutive double-figure kill performance finishing with 14.
Fifth-year senior
Aaliyah Burras continued her late season roll finishing with 10 kills on 15 attacks while committing just two errors for a .533 hitting percentage. She finished at least 10 kills in six of her final seven matches while hitting .497.
Burras added seven kills and four blocks.
Seniors
Kaitlynn Stoker (five) and
Kaycie Shannon (two) combined for seven kills, freshman
Taygon Jones led back row efforts with 18 digs.
Sophomore Morgan Demuth paced Oklahoma Christian with nine kills, while senior setter Olivia Hessman completed a solid all-around performance with seven kills, seven digs, and 36 set assists.
Midwestern State (7-22) finished the season with a winning ledger at Ligon Coliseum at 5-4, while the Eagles closed the campaign at 15-14.
