Mustangs ready to battle the Aggies in an LSC match

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State seeks a fifth-straight win in its all-time series with Cameron as the Aggies visit D.L. Ligon Coliseum for an LSC match at noon on Saturday.

LAST MEETING | Sadie Portmann put down a career-high 21 kills and added 19 digs to lead the Mustangs to a 25-16, 25-27, 18-25, 25-20, 15-9 win over Cameron in the Lone Star Conference Crossover at Kitty Magee Arena on Sept. 10. Midwestern took control of the fifth set by winning seven of eight points to take a 12-6 lead following an Aggie attack error. Senior middle hitter Aaliyah Burras had 15 kills and hit .273, while freshman Robyn White put down 13 kills and hit .233. Taylor Anderson finished with 10 kills. Taygon Jones made a season-high 32 digs against Cameron. Autumn Roach logged a career-high 47 set assists against Cameron and finished off her double-double with 13 digs.

LAST TIME OUT | Midwestern State managed to stay close in all three sets, but No. 14-ranked West Texas A&M swept the Mustangs at D.L. Ligon Coliseum on Friday night, 20-25, 18-25, 25-27. Kelli Ell had 11 kills and two blocks for the Mustangs. Torrey Miller led the way for the Lady Buffs with 11 kills and three blocks. Freshman Arianna Fields finished with a season-high seven kills and four digs in the match. Taygon Jones led the Mustangs with 24 digs, while Autumn Roach and Regan Willms each had 18 assists for the Mustangs.
