PORTALES, New Mexico -- Trailing 23-19 in the third set, Midwestern State (3-15, 1-5) won six of eight points to extend the match, but the Mustangs succumbed to Eastern New Mexico (11-9, 2-6) in a Lone Star Conference match at Greyhound Arena on Wednesday night, 17-25, 13-25, 25-27. Freshman

Jaylen Hogue each had 11 attacks and both hit .273 over two sets for the Mustangs.
Hogue made her first appearance of the season, and Fields played in her fifth match for the Mustangs. Freshman
Taygon Jones had a match-high 14 digs in the match for Midwestern State.
The first set was knotted, 11-11, when the Greyhounds won 5 of 6 points as junior Mikaela Garvin recorded three kills during the run for ENMU. Another kill by Garvin sparked a four-point run to give the Greyhounds an insurmountable 20-14 lead.
Garvin had seven of her 11 kills in the opening set for ENMU, which jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the second set and coasted to a 2-0 lead.
Senior Gracelyn Stubbs was a dominant force throughout the match for Eastern New Mexico. The middle blocker had 11 kills on 17 attacks without an error and accounted for 14.5 points. Stubbs finished the match hitting .647 to lead ENMU.
As a team the Greyhounds finished with a .308 hitting percentage. ENMU had 12 total blocks, and the Mustangs were without a block through three sets.
Midwestern State will be at home for just the third time this season on Friday night. The Mustangs host No. 14-ranked West Texas A&M at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. First serve is scheduled at 6 p.m.
