Angelo State dominated possession early in the match and had Midwestern State stuck in its defensive third. Reagan Urbany hit the right post with a shot in the 5th minute. The sophomore midfielder settled the ball in the middle of the box and blasted a shot past Angelo State goalkeeper Kia Miller into the upper right portion of the net to give MSU the lead. Midwestern State began dominating play from that point and would extend its lead in the 39th minute. Salinas sent a ball to the back post from the left wing, and
Isabella Cruz volleyed in her third goal of the season to put the Mustangs ahead, 2-0. Salinas has four assists this season for Midwestern State. Angelo State outshot the Mustangs in the second half, 6-1, but could not get anything past goalkeeper
