LAST MEETING | Midwestern State was threatening to break through in a scoreless match, but lightning strikes in the area prevented the home opener with Texas Woman's from being completed at Stang Park on Sept. 4. The Mustangs were outshooting TWU 12-2 in their non-conference matchup and had taken all five shots in the second half. The game came to a sudden halt in the 67th minute when lightning was detected in the area. The two teams waited for nearly 90 minutes, hoping to resume play, but the match was abandoned. Prior to the suspended match, the last meeting was the Mustangs' 2-1 overtime victory at Stang Park last season. Maddy Harper gave the Pioneers a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 4th minute, but Midwestern State rallied to force overtime.
