Midwestern State makes its first-ever visit to Lubbock Christian

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State visits Lubbock Christian for the first time in program history on Wednesday. Kickoff at LCU Soccer Field is scheduled for 7 p.m.

LAST MEETING | Cassidy Savoy scored off an Alyssa Salinas corner kick in the 33rd minute as Midwestern State defeated Lubbock Christian, 1-0, at Stang Park last season. MSU attempted 10 corner kicks in the contest, while Lubbock Christian did not get a single opportunity from a corner arc. Isabella Cruz forced LCU goalkeeper Hannah Wise to make to make two of her four saves, and Cruz finished the night with four shots for the Mustangs. Savoy, who scored her second game-winning goal of the season, also put two of her three shots on goal. Lauren Freeman made four saves to earn a clean sheet for Midwestern State. There were only five fouls in the game. The Chaps were called for three of the fouls.

LAST TIME OUT | No. 17 West Texas A&M scored two goals in the second half to roll to a 2-0 win over Midwestern State Saturday night at The Pitch. Midwestern State managed 12 total shots, while placing seven on frame including two each by Cassidy Savoy, Olivia Okoye, and Sydney Van Noy. MSU sophomore goalkeeper Lexi Jackson finished the match with eight saves. The Lady Buffs extended their home field winning streak to 10 matches
