Mustangs take on UT Tyler at Herrington Patriot Center

WICHITA FALLS, Texas --Midwestern State wraps up its two-match road trip with a visit to the Herrington Patriot Center to face UT Tyler in a Lone Star Conference battle.

LAST MEETING | UT Tyler hit .304 and defeated the Mustangs at D.L. Ligon Coliseum last season, 25-18, 21-25, 25-16, 25-17. The Patriots set the tone by hitting .400 in the opening set, but the Mustangs played well in the second set. MSU outhit UT Tyler in the second set, .250 - .216. Taylor Anderson had four of her seven kills in the second set, and Lisette Leforge had three of her nine kills in the frame for MSU, which ended a streak of 20 consecutive sets won by UT Tyler. Mikayla Ware had 17 kills to pace the Patriots, who extended their winning streak to 23-straight matches. UT Tyler head coach Lyndsay Mashe earned her 100th win with the Patriots.

LAST TIME OUT | Senior AJ Koele put down 11 kills to lead hot hitting Dallas Baptist to a 25-22, 25-15, 25-16 win over Midwestern State in Lone Star Conference play Friday night. Midwestern State battled its way to hit .132 as a team paced by sophomore Kelli Ell and freshman Sadie Portmann, who had six kills each. Freshman Arrianna Fields notched five kills on 13 swings with two errors for a .231 hitting percentage, while senior Aaliyah Burras hit .444 while putting down four kills and a block. Senior Taylor Anderson added five kills. Freshman Taygon Jones led back row efforts with seven digs, while junior Autumn Roach had six digs.
