1 | Sophomore
Lauryn Bourne continues to lead Midwestern State in multiple categories. The outside hitter ranks tenth in the Lone Star Conference with 8.82 attacks per set, which turns overall to 732 attempts (ninth in the LSC). Bourne tops the Mustangs with 220 kills on the season and an average of 2.65 per set. Her best performance on the net was against Colorado Christian when she sent 19 kills (09/03). She posts 246.5 points for MSU, split into 2.97 points in 83 sets played. The Cypress, Texas native adds 14 service aces on the year. On the defensive side, Bourne sits second on the team with 256 digs (3.08 per set). She also amounts 21 blocks, gaining a season-high of three at Texas Woman's (10/02).
Arianna Navarrete leads Cameron with 3.39 points and 2.83 kills per set. The sophomore also tops with 29 service aces.

Amy DeWalt posts 350 of the team's 1,286 total passes on the year. The freshman's total earns ninth in the Lone Star Conference while her average of 3.93 digs puts her 14th. DeWalt had standout performance in the Mustangs' last match against UAFS (11/06). She garnered a season-best 32 digs and collected a service ace. The defensive specialist sits at seven aces for the season. The San Antonio, Texas native ranks third for MSU with 73 assists and an average of 0.82 per set. DeWalt found time in 24 matches and 89 sets during the 2021 season.
Presely Shearin is the Aggies' leading passer with 2.81 digs per set. The freshman accumulated 16 aces and 141 assists in 2021.

Autumn Roach holds the tenth highest assists in the Lone Star Conference with 451 and leads Midwestern State in sets. Her average of 5.43 assists per set sits 11th in the LSC as well. The sophomore accumulated 11 matches with 20-plus assists in her 23 appearances. Roach collected a season-high 38 assists landed at Texas A&M International (9/17). In addition, the Fort Worth, Texas native notched 26 kills and eight aces. Roach is third on MSU's list with 163 digs, posting a 1.96 average per set. She gained a season-best 17 digs against UAFS (11/06).
Noemie Narbonne leads CU with 297 assists while Desiree Marmolejo's average of 4.62 sets tops the list. Narbonne grabbed 18 aces whiles Marmolejo made 85 digs.

Regan Willms is the top server for Midwestern State, grabbing 27 of the team's 96 aces. Her total earns tenth in the Lone Star Conference while her 5.43 average sits 11th. Willms collected a season-best six perfect serves versus UAFS (11/06). The freshman is second for the Mustangs with 330 assists, earning 18th in the LSC. Willms sees an average of 4.07 assists in 81 sets played. She earned another season-high 21 assists against the Lady Lions. The setter made 130 digs on the 2021 season (1.60 average).
5 | The Mustangs ride a 15 match losing streak which dates back to a five-set win at Texas A&M International on Sept. 17. The team currently rides the longest skid without a win in program history.
HEAD COACH VALERIE ARMSTRONG enters her fourth season at the helm of the Midwestern State volleyball program. In the shortened 2020 season, the team amounted a 10-7 overall record, the best winning percentage since 2008. Another feat from last year was the program's first Lone Star Conference postseason win that came against DBU (3/23). Before coming to Midwestern State in 2018, she had experience at all levels of collegiate volleyball. In Division I, Armstrong was assistant coach at Binghamton and Alabama State. She saw time as a head coach at two junior colleges including Vernon College and Colby Community College. Her first coaching job was the assistant at NAIA University of the Southwest in 2007 after graduating from Oklahoma Panhandle State. There she earned OPSU Female Athlete of the Year honors after leading the Aggies with 2.50 kills and 0.47 blocks per set as a senior in 2006.
SERIES WITH THE AGGIES
With a series spanning 34 years, the I-44 rivals of Midwestern State and Cameron University have played 64 matches. The Aggies hold a 37-27 lead over the Mustangs with a even 20-20 Lone Star Conference record. MSU holds the advantage at D.L. Ligon Coliseum, gaining 17 wins and 14 losses against CU. Midwestern State bested Cameron in the last two match-ups on March 3 and 4 of 2021. In the two home slates, the Mustangs walked away with 3-0 and 3-2 victories over the Aggies.
