WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State (10-3-3, 7-1-3 LSC) is poised and ready for Texas Woman's (11-3-2, 8-3 LSC) visit to Stang Park as the two teams sit tied for second in the Lone Star Conference with 24 points. The Wednesday, Nov. 3 match will kick-off at 5 p.m. with Senior Day honors to take place before the starting whistle.

Cassidy Savoy's 15 points on the season leads Midwestern State and sits 12th in the Lone Star Conference. The sophomore collected six goals and three assists in her best season thus far at MSU. Savoy conducted a two-goal match against Northwestern Oklahoma State (9/02) to post her first game-winner and tallied the second in the 1-0 match versus Lubbock Christian (10/27). The forward launched 32 shots and landed 14 on goal for a 0.438 shot on goal percent in 15 games played. Savoy caught a season-high five attempts versus Eastern New Mexico (9/29) and Oklahoma Christian (10/06) while gaining three shots on goal at UT Permian Basin (10/13). In her career, the Fort Worth, Texas native grabbed 40 total shots with 18 going on frame for a 0.450 shot on goal percent in 25 games and 1,222 minutes.
Keely Chapman leads Texas Woman's with 18 points for eight goals and two assists. The senior also tops the Pioneers with 43 shots and 22 shots on goal in 15 starts.

Randi Heaton and Kelly Cannsitra both post a team second-highest 11 points on five goals and one assist each. Heaton's three game winners against East Central (9/18), St. Mary's (10/02) and Texas A&M-Commerce (10/20) put her tied for second in the Lone Star Conference. The midfielder notched 15 shots and faced 11 on goal for a 0.733 shot on goal percent. The senior posts seven goals and two assists in 60 matches and 4,500 minutes for her career. Cannistra punched game-clinchers at UT Permian Basin (10/13) and versus West Texas A&M (10/23). The forward rocked 25 attempts and landed 17 on frame for a 0.680 shot on goal percentage in 16 starts. In five years at MSU, Cannistra registered 15 goals and 14 assists for 44 points. The senior also recorded 95 shots with 53 on goal in 82 matches and 5,897 minutes. Cannistra sits 11th in the Mustangs all-time record book for points, 15th for goals and 11th for assists.
Alyssa Simien posts the second best score for TWU with seven goals and one assist for 15 points. The freshman midfielder attempted 29 shots and put 17 on frame in 16 appearances.

Lexi Beck continues to lead MSU with 41 total shots for a 12th rank in the Lone Star Conference while her average of 2.56 per match gains 15th. The freshman's 22 shots on frame earns ninth in the conference and the 1.38 per match average ranks tenth. Beck posted her first collegiate strike at Northwestern Oklahoma State (9/02) and pushed an assist and game-winner against Eastern New Mexico (9/29). With two goals and two helpers, the midfielder blanks six points in her first year at Midwestern State. Beck started all 16 matches for the Mustangs and totaled 1,383 minutes.
Chapman and Simien are both tied with three game winners in their pocket. Rayne Islas follows with two game-clinchers in her three goal and one assist season.

Lauren Freeman notched two more starts last week to total four and post seven appearances for the Mustangs. The junior transfer from Eastern Oklahoma State maintains a perfect 4-0 record as the team gained 1-0 and 2-1 victories over Lubbock Christian (10/27) and UT Tyler (10/30). In the match against the Lady Chaps, Freeman clinched her second shutout of the season. The goalkeeper has found 20 stops against 56 shots for a 0.833 save percent. Freeman made five saves in each match against DBU (10/16) and WT (10/23). The Cleburne, Texas native recorded a 0.77 goals against average while giving up four total in 469 minutes.
Alex Jacinto has 14 starts in 15 games played for Texas Woman's. The freshman tallied a 0.74 goals against average while collecting 25 saves. In 82 shots, the goalkeeper owns a 0.714 save percent and allowed ten goals. Jacinto is 8-3-2 on the season.
5 | Midwestern State registered 28 goals on the season to notch their best offensive push since 2017 when the team gained 30 tallies. In 2020, the team put up 11 goals in ten games and in 2019, the Mustangs accounted 21 goals in 18 matches. With MSU's 7-1-3 conference record, the team clinches 24 conference points. It has been five years since the team last accounted 24 points, going 8-4 for the whole 2016 conference slate. In the last ten years, 2011 was the team's best conference finish, concluding with 28 points and a 9-4-1 record. In the Lone Star Conference, the squad is at the top with a 0.848 save percent to gain 33rd in NCAA Division II. Midwestern State's shot accuracy also ranks first in the LSC at 0.535 while putting them 63rd in DII. For a second place finish, MSU owns a 8.50 average of shots on goal to sit 41st in the NCAA.
HEAD COACH RYAN SPENCE begins his fourth season as head coach at his alma mater. In the 2020 season, he led the Mustangs to the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Conference Tournament. As a player, Spence helped the Mustangs dominate in his four years on the field. He earned All-American from 2008-11 and helped the team reach the Final Four in 2010. His center back prowess assisted in gaining 35 shutouts in his tenure. After graduating with a bachelor's degree, he gained his masters from MSU in 2014-15. From there, Spence moved on as assistant coach at Texas A&M International in 2016 and head coach at Eastern New Mexico in 2017 before coming back to Midwestern State in 2018.
SERIES WITH THE PIONEERS
Conference rivals since the beginning, Midwestern State and Texas Woman's have battled it out since the opening match in 2002. Since then, MSU owns a 14-9-5 series advantage over TWU. When playing at home, the Mustangs are 9-2-2 with the last match coming in 2018 where the teams drew 0-0. In the four matches following, all have been played in Denton, Texas, for a Pioneer home site. In these games, Midwestern State went 0-3-1 including a 2-3 loss in the 2020 season where
