WICHITA FALLS, Texas – No. 24 Midwestern State used an explosive offense to roll to a 52-10 win on Homecoming over Western New Mexico Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.
The Mustangs piled up a season-high 613 yards while scoring on five of their six plays of 55 yards or more. MSU improved to 6-2 overall while remaining 5-0 in Lone Star Conference play.
The Mustangs can clinch at least a share of their fifth Lone Star Conference championship with a win next week at West Texas A&M. MSU can clinch an outright title with a win and if Angelo State defeats Texas A&M-Commerce Saturday in San Angelo.
Midwestern State jumped on WNMU early and often.

Kylan Harrison behind the defense for a 73-yard touchdown on MSU's first offensive play from scrimmage, then found
Ja'Juan Mason for a 55-yard TD on the next possession to push the MSU advantage to 14-0.
The Mustangs' lead grew to 21-0 before the end of the first quarter when Sterling-Cole found
Ja'Marzeyea Arvie for a 4-yard touchdown to culminate a five-play, 89-yard drive.
MSU used a prolific 18-play, 78-yard drive to drain 8:04 off the clock before freshman
Jalen March rushed the ball in from 2 yards out to push the halftime advantage to 28-0.
Harrison opened the second half with an electrifying 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, then the Mustangs used big play strikes to build a massive lead.
K'Vonte Jackson broke free for a 72-yard Td run with 4:54 to play in the third quarter before sophomore quarterback
Neiko Hollins connected with freshman
Jayden Moore for an 85-yard score to push the MSU lead to 52-0 heading into the final quarter.
Sterling-Cole completed 12-of-20 passes for 205 yards and three touchdowns before giving way to Hollins in the third quarter. Hollins went 5-of-7 for 144 yards and a touchdown.
Harrison closed the game with seven receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown, while Moore made his first three collegiate receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown.
Midwestern State rolled up a season-high 264 rushing yards led by Jackson, who ran for 91 yards on six totes. March added 84 yards on eight carries, while senior
Justin Jones rushed 14 times for 52 yards.
The Midwestern State defense forced six turnovers including four fumble recoveries and interceptions by
Dylon Davis and
Khalil Finley, while also making eight team tackles for loss with three sacks.
Junior linebacker
Justin Guillory led MSU with seven tackles, while
Melik Owens,
Jaylon Abdul-Karim and
Zed Asowata made 1 ½ stops for loss each.
