DALLAS -- Midwestern State played Dallas Baptist on equal terms during the opening five minutes Saturday afternoon at Burg Center.

Dallas Baptist scored in triple figures for the second consecutive game and for the fourth time this season to improve to 17-5 overall and 11-5 in league play.
The opportunistic Patriots forced 15 steals and frustrated MSU into 22 miscues to own a commanding 35-12 edge in points off of turnovers.
Midwestern State ended a nearly five-minute long scoring drought with a pair of layups from senior guard
D'monta Harris, but that only preceded another 14-2 Dallas Baptist run culminated by back-to-back 3-pointers by Carson Hughes and Jalen White as the Patriot lead swelled to 42-16 with 3:52 to go in the first half.
Just 48 hours after hitting 21 3-pointers in a 120-75 rout of Cameron, Dallas Baptist was at it again. The Patriots finish the game with an overall 61.9 field goal percentage including 14-of-28 marksmanship from beyond the arc.
DBU would lead by as many as 39 points in the second half.
Harris finished with 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting to lead the Mustangs, while fellow senior guard
Darius Thompson tallied 18 points on 6-of-12 accuracy with three 3-pointers.
Sophomore guard
Trae Jones drilled five 3-pointers on 10 tries to finish with 15 points, while sophomore forward
Jalin Brown added 10 points on 4-of-4 shooting.
Midwestern State shot 48.2 percent from the field as a team and was 10-of-29 from 3-point range.
The Mustangs take on Texas A&M-Commerce Thursday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
