Midwestern State tangles with Hawaii Pacific on Tuesday

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – No. 15 Midwestern State returns to the MSU Tennis Center on Tuesday for a meeting with No. 8 Hawai'i Pacific. First serve is slated for 2 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
MSU Texas has never beaten Hawai'i Pacific, dropping all five meetings between the two programs. This is the fourth straight time the Mustangs will square off against a Sharks squad that is ranked in the top 10. 

CLUTCH CIZERON
Reigning Female Tennis Athlete of the Week Lea Cizeron continued her reign of terror against ranked opponents, upsetting No. 29 Isabella Dunlap of Central Oklahoma on Friday 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-2). Last week, Cizeron defeated No. 9 Kim Moosbacher of Oklahoma Baptist 7-6, 7-5.

IN THE RANKINGS
Midwestern State remained at No. 15 in the Oracle/ITA Division II team rankings that were released on February 19.

SCOUTING THE SHARKS
Hawai'i Pacific pushed their winning streak to four with a pair of shutout wins on Sunday. The Sharks blanked Hawai'i Hilo, 4-0, before capping off the weekend with a 7-0 thrashing of Stanislaus State. Mihoki Miyahara is a perfect 6-0 on the season, with five of her victories coming on the No. 3 singles line. Last season, the Sharks posted a 15-6 record and advanced to the NCAA Division II Quarterfinals, where they lost to No. 5 Columbus State, 4-2.

CATCHING UP WITH COACH LINN
Scott Linn enters his 10th season at the helm of the Midwestern State men's and women's tennis teams. Since arriving in the fall of 2010, Linn coached teams have made 15 total NCAA Tournament appearances. 
 
UP NEXT
A pair of non-conference matches on Friday against Colorado Mesa (9 a.m.) and Colorado State-Pueblo (3 p.m.).
