Mustangs go ice cold in 75-52 loss at Cameron

LAWTON, Okla. – Midwestern State just couldn't buy a bucket Saturday afternoon at Aggie Gym.

The Mustangs went without a field goal for an 11-minute stretch during the first half after going 6-for-12 in the opening stanza to allow Cameron to take control for a 75-52 Lone Star Conference win.

"Cameron made shots and we got away from doing everything that we did well yesterday," MSU coach Christopher Reay. "We missed a few layups and everyone got all tense and tight. It's baffling that we could look as good as we did yesterday and play like this today."

The Mustangs shot a meager 19.1 percent (9-for-47) over the last three periods over the last three periods, while Cameron used a balanced attack to control of the game.

Juniors Maighan Hedge and Kiara Lovings combined for five 3-pointers for the Aggies to finish with a matching game-high 16 points, while Wichita Falls native Jazmin Luster added 12 points and five rebounds.

Senior guard Morgan Lenahan scored 10 of her team-high 12 points in the first period, while junior Shawnisay Millar added nine points on the strength of a 7-for-10 effort from the charity stripe.

Sophomore Sheridan Bostic buried two 3-pointers to join Haevyn Risley with six points.

Sophomore Mandy Withey grabbed a team-best six rebounds off of the bench.

Midwestern State plays host to Texas A&M International for a pair of games next weekend at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
