McKINNEY, TEXAS – The 15th ranked Mustangs usher in the 2020 season on Saturday with matches against Collin College (Texas) at 9 a.m. and Harding (Ark.) at 2:30 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
MSU Texas owns a 7-1 edge over Collin College and has won six straight meetings. The Mustangs hold a slight 2-1 edge over Harding. It will be the first meeting between the two schools since MSU Texas came away with a 5-3 win during the 2007 season.

IN THE POLLS
Following a 21-win campaign that culminated with a third straight Lone Star Conference Postseason title, Midwestern State opens the 2020 season ranked No. 15 in the initial Oracle/ITA Division II team rankings.

SEASON OPENERS
Midwestern State has posted a 7-3 record in season openers since the start of the 2010 season. Last year, the Mustangs upended No. 14 Northeastern State (Oklahoma), 6-1.

FAMILIAR FACES
MSU Texas returns six from last year's squad that advanced to the Round of 16, including reigning Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year Casie Curry, ranked No. 43 in singles and Ashley Ramirez, who became the first repeat All-American in program history after ending the year ranked No. 7 in doubles with Bianca Duff.

FRESH FACES
The Mustangs welcome two new players into the fold in 2020 in Emily Ineson and Emilija Visic. Both competed during the fall season, with Ineson finishing 2-1 in flight three at the MSU Invitational and Visic teaming with Ashley Ramirez to win the flight one doubles title at the MSU Invitational.

SCOUTING THE FIELD

Collin College is ranked 10th in the initial Oracle/ITA JUCO team rankings after posting a 9-8 mark last season and finishing ninth at the NJCAA Nationals.

Harding University posted a 16-6 mark last season, which included wins over Lone Star Conference foes Dallas Baptist, UT Permian Basin, and Arkansas-Fort Smith. Senior Erin Young, who posted an 11-7 singles record, leads a Bisons squad that returns 10 players with previous experience.

CATCHING UP WITH COACH LINN
Scott Linn enters his 10th season at the helm of the Midwestern State men's and women's tennis teams. Since arriving in the fall of 2010, Linn has compiled a 315-137 (.697) mark with 15 total NCAA Tournament appearances.
