ARLINGTON, Texas - Midwestern State's
Casie Curry saw her magical run at the ITA Regional Women's Tennis Championships end on Saturday morning at the Arlington Tennis Center.
The sophomore, who was a perfect 4-0 in the women's flight "A" draw entering the final day of competition, was beaten 6-1, 6-1 by Ashley Penshorn of St. Mary's in the semifinals.
"I think she did great," MSU coach
Scott Linn said. "She gave everything she could, physically and mentally. Anytime you can get to the third day of the ITA Regional you've shown a lot of toughness and belief in yourself."
While Curry was the only Mustang to reach the final day, MSU is headed home with some positives.
"There were moments. The end of day one and a lot of day two looked really good," Linn said. "It's a good group of ladies that all want to get better and all buy into the team which is great."
