WICHITA FALLS, Texas – No. 19 Midwestern State welcomes No. 4 West Texas A&M to Stang Park on Friday night. Match time is 7 p.m.
 
SERIES HISTORY
MSU leads the all-time series 33-18-4. The Mustangs had won nine straight meetings before posting an 0-1-1 mark against the Buffs last year. MSU has not lost to West Texas A&M at Stang Park since November 4, 2007 (West Texas' win in 2018 came on the turf field across the street from Stang Park).

VENEGAS VICTIMIZES OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN
Sebastian Venegas tallied a second half brace against the Eagles, including a left-footed 25-yard strike that led Head Coach Michael Meachum to say, "He's got one of the best left foots in the country."
 
LAMPE LIGHTS UP RECORD BOOKS
Taylor Lampe tied the program record for career shutouts with 21 after his latest clean sheet on Thursday night. The junior did not have to make a save in notching his fifth win of the season. Lampe will move past Raul Herrera (2005, 2009-2010) and into sole possession of first place with his next shutout.
 
IN THE RANKINGS
MSU Texas slipped 11 spots, to No. 19 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll after an uneven week. MSU routed St. Edward's 3-0 before being blanked by St. Mary's, 2-0. The Mustangs have appeared in the last 55 USC rankings as a ranked side dating back to the 2014 season and have received votes in the last 67 rankings dating back to 2013.
 
A MINUTE WITH MEACHUM
Michael Meachum kicked off his second year as Head Coach at Midwestern State with a 2-0 win over Dixie State on September 5 at Stang Park. Meachum posted a 16-1-3 mark in his first season at the helm.
 
SCOUTING THE BUFFS
No. 4 West Texas stayed perfect with a 3-1 win over No. 9 Eastern New Mexico in the Lone Star Conference opener for both teams on Thursday night. Kenny Brown leads the Buffs with four goals. In net, Alexander Vencel and Colin Burgiel have split time, with each goalkeeper posting a 2-0 record. The 4-0 Buffs have conceded just two goals on the season.

MSU Texas travels to Lubbock, Texas on October 3 for a Lone Star Conference game against Lubbock Christian. Match time is 3:30 p.m.
